Welcome to Roy Overload daily business, tech and finance news of Scott Declare. This is what's making news today. Home sales are up in October on a year over year basis. In facebook and Social Media News, there will be no default rollout for end and encryption across all facebook organizations. The Russian Federal Taxation Service Chief Beliefe Crypto can reduce the countries tax base, and Phonoah secures twenty point five million dollars in funding to make tax compliance easier for digital businesses. Let's jump right into it. So first story of the day. The National Association of Realtors recently reported that in October two thousand and twenty one, home sales are up by zero point eight percent compared to October of two thousand and twenty in terms of numbers, the sale of previously owned homes stood at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of six point three four million as of October this year. When comparing the number of homes available for sale after October two thousand and twenty one with the numbers of October two thousand and twenty the figures were lower this year than last year. After October of two thousand and twenty one.

One point two five million homes were still available for sale, which is twelve percent lower the number of homes available for sale after October of last year. Remember, all these numbers are also in the US. Realtors are really optimistic about sales upcoming year, as they believe that sales this year will cross six million dollars, six million total sales, which, if achieved, will be the highest sales figures ever recorded since two thousand and six moving over to social media news, the end end encryption that people are looking for on facebook and instagram and all facebook products rely, WHATSAPP and whatnot. They're not going to make it a default. So Guardian recently reported that Meta or facebook won't extend end to end encryption across facebook, messenger and instagram and WHATSAPP by two thousand and twenty three. It's not as if the end end encryption is not available on facebook, messenger and instagram. It's just not a feature that is activated by default. As for the reason behind met as decision not to activate...

...end and encryption by default on facebook, messenger, instagram what's APP, this decision was taken because of concerns around the user safety and and encryption means that the sender and receiver will only be able to see their messages and no one else has. Amongst met as platforms, only whatsapp currently supports default and end encryption, but it does not include when, for example, you are messaging on instagram or facebook. Moving over to Crypto News, the Russian Federal Taxation Service, or FTS, they're chief, beliefs that crypto can reduce the countries tax tax base. Excuse me, so Danille Egarov, the head of the Russian Federal Taxation Service, said that they are keeping tabs on the crypto market in the country to monitor any incidents involving tax evasion. While being interviewed by local media outlet, the FTS chief said the cryptic could cause a significant erosion in the Russian tax base. He further expanded, saying that the CRYPTO transactions...

...can be tracked and that FTS is ready to deploy an automated crypto transaction monitoring mechanism to keep track of large volume transactions and just all the volume that is going to be moving through exchanges that are not normally monitored by government agency. In February of this year, the State Duma, the Federal Assembly, of Russia's Lower House approved a bill that made it mandatory for Russian citizens to report CRYPTO transactions if they exceed seven thousand eight hundred dollars in a financial year. And lastly, in Startup News, phonah secures twenty five million dollars in funding to make tax compliance easier for digital businesses. So, with the covid pandemic causing a strict lockdowns world wide, we saw a rise in the number of digital first businesses. These digital businesses have multiple pain points it need to be tackled, which include tax collection. A two year old start up, Phoa, aims to solve tax related pain points for digital businesses with its APIS.

The startup was founded founded by Davor TREMEC, Philip Sterman and Ivan Ivankovics, all of whom were previously working at Uber. There have been over three hundred million transactions on Pinoa's platform last year. To expand even further, the tax compliance start up has raised twenty point five million in series a funding. Its series a funding round is led by OHMER's ventures. Other companies to participate in this round where FJ labs moving capital and index ventures. And in other news from around the Internet Render knabs at twenty million dollars in series a funding to gain market share in devops cloud markets. So the San Francisco Base devops Cloud Platform Provider raised twenty million in the series A. Render will use the funds to triple its head count and compete against the Holy Trinity of the Cloud Market, Amazon web services, Microsoft azure and Google cloud. And Moon pay raises five hundred and fifty five million dollars out of three point four billion dollar valuation. Two Thousand and twententy one has been a record year for cryptostartups. Is...

...a funding in the cryptospace is already up three hundred and eighty four percent so far in two thousand and twenty one, compared to two thousand and twenty the recent crypto start up to raise funding, or one of the most recent cryptostartups race fundy, is the Miami based Moon Pay, which allows its users to buy crypto using traditional payment options, including like Dev in credit. anyways, that's it for today.
